Elland. Friday 12th October: Bond It, a leading manufacturer of sealants, adhesives, grouts and other building chemicals, has today unveiled a new warehouse at its site on the Lowfields Business Park in Elland. The new warehouse, which represents an investment of over £1million and which has led to the creation of seven additional jobs, will help the company service increasing demand for its products and will be instrumental in driving further growth.
Craig Whittaker, Member of Parliament for Calder Valley, officially opened the warehouse at a ceremony attended by Bond It employees, members of the Huddersfield Giants, who will be officially sponsored by Bond It from next season, and representatives from Claude Hellowell – one of Bond It’s distribution partners.
Measuring over 13,700 sq. ft., the new facility will now take the total footprint of Bond It’s site to 60,000 sq. ft. As well as significantly adding to the company’s stock holding capacity, it will also help the company explore new opportunities for international trade. This is a major area of expansion for the business with key export markets already including South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and South Korea.
Commenting on the warehouse opening, David Moore, Managing Director at Bond It, said: We’re delighted to be opening a new warehouse as it’s a direct reflection of our on-going success in a difficult economic climate. We attribute our continued expansion, which includes, on average, double digit growth every year for the last decade, to a combination of great products, exceptional service and a genuine commitment to sound and honest business practices.
He continued: “The investment has not only created seven new jobs but has also helped secure the future of our existing 53 employees. As such, it’s not only good news for us as a business, but for the local community as a whole.”
Craig Whittaker, MP, added: “I am delighted to have opened the new Bond It warehouse. The company is a major employer for the surrounding area and also an important part of the local economy. To see the business prospering and continuing to set a high standard for other in its industry is fantastic. I’d like to congratulate the Bond It team for their success so far and wish them all the best for the future.”
